In this era of renewable energy and space exploration, harnessing the solar energy is becoming increasingly important. As a result, different material systems are being employed, new designs implemented and systems tailored for use in particular situations.

The System permits the determination of device spectral responsivity (from which may be determined EQE), and, having performed measurements of sample reflectance (and transmittance where required) the determination of IQE.

A monochromatic probe based on a Bentham TMc300 single monochromator and typically a Xenon/Quartz halogen light source, is launched onto the sample under test, giving coverage over the spectral range 350-2500nm.

The above image depicts such a system, coupling the monochromatic probe to a sample in the test enclosure which also houses a solar bias source.

Specifications:
1) Triple-grating monochromator, 300mm focus length, fixed slits with USB computer control’
2) Grating ruled 1200g/mm blazed at 500nm for wavelength 300nm – 1100nm
3) The accuracy of the 1200g/mm grating is ±0.2nm
4) Grating ruled 600g/mm blazed at 1250nm for 1100nm to 1800nm;
5) The accuracy of the 600 g/mm grating ±0.4nm.
6) Three Order sorting filters: 400/700/1250.
7) 6 positions, stepping Motorized filter wheel with shutter

10) The wavelength interval of the measurement can be varied by changing the entrance/ exit slits of the monochromator to yield the required bandwidth.
